Our fourth event is presented by the Music Gallery's Emergents series, and will take place on May 3rd 2019 at 918 Bathurst in Toronto. The show will feature new dance/ music creations by Angela Blumberg, Quinn Jacobs, Domenic Jarlkaganova, and Julia Mermelstein, written for marimba duo taktus and a wealth of dancers, actors, and other musicians. The four new works on the programme will be presented alongside classics Glass Houses (1981) and Rivers (1979) by Ann Southam (with new choreography by Ming-Bo Lam) and Living Room Music (1940) by John Cage.
Following in the tradition of past Emergents Series shows, this event will be a double bill. Presenting work next to Din of Shadows on May 3rd will be Toronto-based visual artists Alesha Aquino, Amy Jefferys, and Jennifer Ramses. They will have an exhibition set up in the Art Gallery adjacent to the performance space at 918 Bathurst throughout the evening, and will also be collaborating with Din on the performance itself.
